This paper, developed in collaboration with IFES and the Institute of Innovative Governance, addresses the critical need for regulating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Ukraine’s electoral processes. As Ukraine navigates a full-scale war and works towards harmonizing its legal framework with the European Union acquis, the regulation of AI becomes increasingly important. The paper examines the intersection of the EU AI Act’s risk-based approach and Ukraine’s future adoption of this regulatory framework, assessing the opportunities and challenges it presents within the context of Ukraine’s electoral systems.
